Teams Meetings
Live Teams Etiquette
We are excited to get our live lessons/chat sessions up and running but there a few things to think about to help things run smoothly.
A few rules for our live Teams sessions:
-
Communicate in groups – one-to-one sessions are not permitted. Set yourself up in a good space where you can hear, and there won’t be any distractions.
-
Be situated in a suitable ‘public’ living area within the home with an appropriate background – ‘private’ living areas within the home, such as bedrooms, are not permitted during video communication.
-
DO NOT take any photos/screen shots or record any sessions.
-
Dress suitably – this includes others in their household.
-
Use appropriate language – this includes others in their household.
-
PUNCTUALITY: Login to Teams 5 minutes before your lesson is due to start.
-
MUTE: please mute yourself when you enter the session (if the teacher hasn’t already muted everyone). Your teacher will unmute you when they ask you to contribute.
-
HAND UP: use the ‘hand up’ signal if you need to say something to the teacher.
-
MANNERS: use your manners and respect comments from your friends and your teacher – just as you would do in school.
-
No eating during lessons please (again, just like in class).
-
CHAT: this function should only be used to communicate to your teacher – not to chat with your friends.
-
Camera: try to look at the camera when you are speaking.
-
Stay Connected: please stay for the full session. We understand there may be technical issues but if you need to leave for another reason, do it quietly and don’t interrupt the teacher.
-
Always remain aware that all users are visible.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all virtually.
